Congratulations: You just survived and hopefully thrived through years of collegiate education, and now it's time to celebrate your accomplishment. And what better way to say "good job" than a ceremony where you get to listen to a bunch of people talk for hours while you sit on a folding chair in a field, wearing a rented polyester robe and hat that doesn't fit your — or anyone's — head.

Tradition demands it.

But among that throng of people on the stage garbed in slightly fancier robes are some true luminaries of society. Whether they're a politician, celebrity, deep thinker or innovator in their field, they help bring your accomplishments into perspective before you get to chuck your ill-fitting cap and finally celebrate with your loved ones.

Here are some of the speakers who will address graduates in Massachusetts this commencement season.
