Weta Workshop Surprise!
Think Tank is quite fond of the work and mindset at Weta. We’re one of a few schools who teach their Mari 3D texturing software. We also have multiple sculpts of theirs on display throughout our facility. It’s safe to say we love everything they do. So you can bet we were over the moon when they sent us a batch of swag and goodies that included a custom book, t-shirt and necklaces. Just look at how ecstatic the second semester students are about it!
The company was founded in 1987 and is based in Miramar, New Zealand. They are a special effects and prop company who produce effects for television and film. Shows that have brought them worldwide prominence include, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. As well as, Lord of the Rings, Meet the Feebles and Heavenly Creatures. A digital division, Weta Digital, was formed in 1993.
