WBUR wins two national Murrow Awards

Two awards, two years in a row. WBUR has again earned national acclaim as a 2022 recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Awards , bestowed annually by the Radio Television Digital News Association ( RTDNA ). This year's outstanding achievements in the large radio market division top the Excellence in Sound and News Series categories.

Excellence in Sound : "' Time To Cut Losses': Inside the final days of a Boston restaurant ," documents the fraught closure of a downtown café amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

News Series : Pandemic Generation , a series funded in part by a grant from the NIHCM Foundation , explores the mental health struggles of young people whose lives were upended by COVID-19 – and the challenges still ahead of them.

“We’re honored to be recognized by RTDNA with two Edward R. Murrow awards this year,” said Victor Hernandez, Chief Content Officer, WBUR. “These awards demonstrate our deep commitment to in-depth, ongoing reporting of the coronavirus pandemic nearly three years since the public health emergency first began.”
